Law was my families’ business. Both my grandfathers, my father, and some uncles and cousins were and are attorneys. I have worked in law offices since I was a teenager and it has been a good fit.
I like people and I like solving problems. Bankruptcy, estate planning, and family law all involve a lot of pieces, like a puzzle. Each client is different, as is each solution. I truly enjoy putting the pieces together to find the custom-fit solution to each client’s puzzle.
Credentials
I am originally from Coshocton, Ohio. I attended Northwestern University and graduated with a B.S. in Communications Studies. I received my J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. I relocated to Charleston, South Carolina and became licensed in South Carolina in 1990.
In Charleston, I was employed by Bernstein & Freeman, practicing in the areas of bankruptcy, collections and litigation. From 1991 through 2005, my father and I shared a practice, Freeman & Freeman, where I received great experience in the areas of bankruptcy, family court and general litigation.
In 2006, I went out on my own and formed Wendi M. Freeman, LLC, where my practice focused on Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, foreclosure defense, and domestic issues, primarily separations and divorces.
At the beginning of 2013, I joined with attorney Dana R. Wine to form Freeman | Wine, LLC. Our practice focuses on the areas of bankruptcy, family law issues, and estate planning.
I am a long-time member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Charleston Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association; and the South Carolina Bar Family Court Section.
